Tanvir Ahmed

Tanvir Ahmed Biography
In a country recognised for its young fast bowling talents, Tanvir has made an exceptional achievement in making it to the national team at the age of 31.
A Waqar Younis fan since his growing up days, the apprentice even modelled his action on the bowling legend followed by a debut for Karachi in 1998-99 season. Over the years, he has played for several Karachi teams in addition to playing for Sindh and Baluchistan. However he came into reckoning only in the 2009-10 season when his sensational performances in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy earned him a place in Pakistan’s Test squad for the England tour. Though he didn’t get the chance to play, he continues to remain in the selector’s scheme of things because of his ability to swing the new ball and reverse with the old.
Despite his late entry, the speedster believes that he is still not done and has a lot to offer to Pakistan cricket in future. And at the alarming rate at which fast bowlers are breaking down, he is sure to get his opportunities in future.

Fast Facts

He was the highest wicket taker in the 2009-10 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy with 85 wickets at an impressive average of 17.12.
From his 102 First class games, he also 23 five wicket hauls and 7 ten wicket hauls.
He also has best bowling figures of 8-53 in First class cricket.

  1. With such a nice record why he is out of the team http://www.pcboard.com.pk/Pakistan/Players/19/19818/19818.html . PCB always ignore talented and deserving players and select pathetic ones and invest time and money. They should pick polished performers and ignore age as long as they are fit.
